Why Becoming an icap Ambassador Is Good for Business and the Irish Community in the UK

At icap, we believe in the power of community, culture, and connection. As the only specialist mental health charity in the UK supporting people of Irish heritage, our mission is rooted in providing culturally sensitive therapy that understands the unique challenges faced by the Irish in the UK.

We know that healing happens not only through therapy rooms, but also through the collective commitment of people who choose to lead with purpose and promote our mission. That’s why becoming an icap Ambassador is such a powerful act. It creates meaningful impact for our clients, while offering business owners and public figures a chance to demonstrate their values, strengthen their networks, and give back to the Irish community.

What is an icap Ambassador?

icap Ambassadors are individuals who use their voices, platforms and influence to raise awareness and support for the charity’s mission. They come from many walks of life, from entrepreneurs and business leaders to public figures and community champions. What they all share is a strong connection to their Irish heritage, compassion for their community and a desire to support accessible mental health services for those who need them most.

As an icap Ambassador, your involvement can be largely dictated by the level of commitment you are able to provide. We know how time consuming running a business or organisation can be, so there are no strict rules or commitments that need to be abided by. Whether you are dedicated to our fundraising efforts, attending our high-profile events, directly sponsoring initiatives or helping spread the word about our services, you will play a vital role in making our work possible.

If you are not in the position to become an icap ambassador, you can still make a difference. Consider supporting icap’s vital services by donating online. Every contribution helps us continue our work. Donate Now

Why It Matters for Business

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) That Reflects Your Values

Supporting icap is more than a charitable gesture, it is a strategic decision that shows your business stands for compassion, culture and community wellbeing. As CSR becomes increasingly important to clients, stakeholders and employees alike, becoming an icap Ambassador helps your business demonstrate their social impact to the world.

Promote Your Brand Through Meaningful Visibility

When you support icap, you align your name with an established, respected charity working on the frontline of mental health support. You’ll be featured at major events such as our Annual Black Tie Gala Dinner, the International Women’s Day Lunch and other high-profile initiatives. These events not only bring together the Irish in the UK but also business leaders across sectors who value community-driven impact.

Grow Your Network

icap Ambassadors are part of an inspiring and growing network of like-minded leaders and entrepreneurs who care deeply about their heritage and community. It’s an opportunity to build long-term relationships with people who share your values — and who understand the value of giving back.

What it Means for your Personal Fulfilment & Legacy

Being an icap Ambassador is about more than visibility. It’s about creating legacy.

Supporting icap is a way to honour your roots, give back to a community that raised you, and show your team, family and peers that leadership means stepping up for others.
The role is flexible, authentic and impactful, whether you’re sponsoring a table, making an introduction, hosting a fundraiser or simply showing up, your support counts.

The Impact of Your Support for icap

Every pound raised, as a result of the support from our icap Ambassadors, goes directly towards delivering therapy. In fact, 96p out of every £1 received by icap funds frontline mental health services. In the past year alone, icap delivered over 7,500 hours of culturally sensitive counselling and psychotherapy to Irish clients across the UK.

We provide one-to-one therapy, trauma recovery, group work, creative arts therapy and more. Our clients often tell us that icap helped them through their darkest times, gave them hope, and in some cases, saved their lives.

When you become an icap Ambassador, you become part of that journey to recovery and healing.
