Meitheal London Irish Centre

Meitheal London Irish Centre (LIC) Men’s Group

This group aims to be a space for men to talk about interests or anything troubling and concerning and to support without judgement.

The group acts as a ‘space to be together’ and converse regarding well-being and possibly fulfil a need to have a social/personal space to talk about interests, worries and beliefs.

The impact of being side-lined, of not having a secure and safe home and of being discriminated against for being Irish in Britain are common themes.

The group runs in-person at Kennedy Hall at the London Irish Centre in Camden fortnightly on Tuesdays from 11:00am-12.30pm. We meet in a private room to respect confidentiality.

Attendees do not need to be or have been ICAP clients, but need to be Irish (including second or third generation) or have an Irish connection, for example married or partnered with an Irish person.

Referrals can come from the Kennedy Hall at LIC or ICAP or self-referral via the website for any men who attends the Kennedy Hall at LIC for social meals and can be referred by staff or the Health Navigator there. The group facilitator will talk with any man referred beforehand about the group, so that they are agreed on their expectations of the group.
Refreshments are served, there is no fee to attend and there are breaks during summer, Easter and Christmas.
