
Cairde Group (Irish for Friends)
A group specifically for survivors of Ireland’s church-run mother and baby homes industrial schools, the children of unmarried mothers. Group members don’t have to have any links with icap.
The group runs in Kentish Town Weekly on Wednesdays (1.30-3pm)
This group provide a space where the participants can talk about their experiences. It helps to cut through the stigma and past traumas of their situation, as well as offering acceptance and companionship.
Participants gather as a group with the group therapist. They decide what they want to talk about, but with the underlying awareness of their shared childhood experiences and some input for the therapist. The discussion is confidential.
Refreshments are available, it’s free to attend and there are breaks over Christmas, Easter and Summer.
