icap's An Irish Shindig

On Thursday 26th of September, icap’s An Irish Shindig took place at the iconic Electric Ballroom in Camden, London. The venue was packed to the rafters with Irish music fans who had travelled from across the South East to experience a celebration of Irish music and culture like no other.

Our MC for the evening, the ever-charismatic Joe O’Neill, kept the energy high, warming up the crowd before each act took to the stage. The night began with the talented Niall McNamee, whose performance of Irish rebel songs and his hilarious original track Magpie with a Mullet had the crowd singing along. His opening act set the perfect tone for what was to come.

Next up, the legendary Biblecode Sundays took the stage, raising the roof with fan favourites like Maybe It’s Because I’m an Irish Londoner and The Green and Red of Harrow. The energy in the room was electric, with the crowd knowing every word and belting out each song in unison.

Finally, the night’s headliners, The Tumbling Paddies, took to the stage to a roaring crowd. Their performance was a mix of classics, including a crowd-pleasing rendition of I Want to Dance with Somebody, and some of their original hits that kept the audience on their feet.

We are incredibly thankful to Kate Fuller and her amazing team at the Electric Ballroom for their support in making the event a success. The proceeds from An Irish Shindig will directly support icap’s mission of providing crucial mental health services to the Irish community in the UK.

If you couldn’t make it to the event, there’s still time to get involved. You can donate whatever you can afford or volunteer your time to help us continue this important work. Please get in touch with our team to find out how you can support icap.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fantastic night – we couldn’t have done it without you.
