Below are some commonly asked questions about volunteering at icap:
Do I need qualifications or experience of working to volunteer?
Not necessarily – each volunteer is different, and icap is
interested in how you can help (and how we can help you).
Will I need a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check?
In accordance with Government regulation, all people working directly with vulnerable adults or children are required to
undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check. Therefore, if you volunteer with icap, you will be asked to complete the
necessary forms.
How old do I need to be to volunteer?
We ask that all volunteers are a minimum age of 18.
Will I get expenses?
Any time that you volunteer for more than four hours, icap will reimburse you £5 to cover the cost of your lunch/food.
icap will cover your travel expenses to and from our offices on the day that you work (upon production of receipts).
Will I get training in my volunteer role?
All volunteers receive an induction when they start volunteering at icap, and training so that they can carry out their
role. We are currently undertaking an assessment of our volunteer training needs. Please let us know if you have any
particular training needs, or ideas, or suggestions so that we can try to accommodate them in our training plans.
