icap Psychotherapists

icap psychotherapists are fully qualified and accredited and work with professional supervision to the required professional standards. icap psychotherapists have no less then 5 years post qualification clinical experience.

Currently there is no legislation which prevents individuals from setting up a centre and calling themselves counsellors or psychotherapists. Unfortunately, some people practice counselling with a minimum of training, so a client should ensure that their therapist is one of the below:

The orientation at icap is based on a psychodynamic way of working. In addition, many of the psychotherapists have other approaches which inform their work. icap strives to provide a psychotherapist who is best suited to working with the particular needs of the client.

Since it's foundation in 1996, icap has built up valuable experience in working with people of Irish origin in the UK. This experience is shared within the organisation through supervision and in-service training. The network of icap psychotherapists aims to cover areas of high Irish immigration in London and throughout the UK. icap endeavors to reach those who could benefit from our service and to share our general experience with others in the field.

It is important that icap psychotherapists have a keen awareness of cultural issues relating to immigration and Irish culture. Every effort is made by icap to access staff who are best suited to meet our clients' needs.
